Cancel your subscription
Cancelling stops your subscription from renewing. You keep full access until the end of the period you have already paid for, and nothing is deleted — afterwards your account is on the Free plan.
Cancel
- Open Settings → Billing.
- Under Cancel your plan, choose Cancel plan.
- Pick a Reason and choose Continue. Nothing is cancelled yet.
- You are shown a few alternatives (below). Choose one, Keep my plan, or Cancel anyway.
After Cancel anyway, the page says Your plan stays active until … and Your plan will not renew.
The alternatives you may be offered
| Offer | What it does | Offered when |
|---|---|---|
| Switch to annual and save | Moves you to annual billing — ten months for a year | You are not already on annual |
| Move to Plus instead | Keeps your subscription at the Plus price, without exams | You are on Pro |
| Pause for 60 days | Stops billing for 60 days, then resumes | You are not already paused. See Pause for a semester break |
| Tell us what went wrong | Sends your reason to the team and keeps your plan for now | Always |
You can accept one of the first three once per account. After that, only Tell us what went wrong is offered.
During a free trial
Cancelling during your 14-day trial means you are never charged. You keep the trial's features until the fourteen days end.
Changing your mind
Until the date your plan ends, Settings → Billing says Your plan is ending and offers Resume plan, which undoes the cancellation through the billing portal. Nothing is charged until your normal renewal date.
What you keep
Everything. Your groups, students, sessions, attendance, coursework and exam attempts all stay. On the Free plan you can keep teaching up to its limits, and if you have more groups than Free allows, the extra ones stay readable — see When you hit a limit.
To delete your data rather than keep it, that is a separate step: Settings → Account → Close your account, which permanently deletes the account and everything it owns. Download your data first — see Your account settings.
Paying by InstaPay
There is nothing to cancel. InstaPay does not renew; when the period you paid for ends, your account moves to Free on its own.
Coming back
Subscribe again whenever you like from Settings → Payment. Your free trial is only offered once, so a returning subscriber is charged from the first day.
