Pause for a semester break
Between semesters you can pause a card subscription for 60 days instead of cancelling. You are not charged while it is paused, nothing is deleted, and it resumes on its own.
How to pause
Pausing is offered when you start to cancel:
- Open Settings → Billing and, under Cancel your plan, choose Cancel plan.
- Pick a reason — I'm between semesters is the obvious one — and choose Continue. Nothing is cancelled yet.
- Among the alternatives, choose Pause for 60 days.
Your plan is paused immediately. The billing page says Your plan is paused until …. You won't be billed, and everything is kept exactly as you left it.
Each account can accept one of these alternatives once. If you have already taken one — a pause, a switch to annual, or a move to Plus — pausing is not offered again, and the only way to stop paying is to cancel.
While it is paused
Your account drops to Free limits for the 60 days:
- every group, student, session and grade is kept and readable
- you can keep teaching up to 3 groups, 300 students and 60 sessions a month
- exams and adding team members are unavailable until it resumes
Settings → Plan & usage shows the pause and when it ends.
When it resumes
After 60 days the subscription resumes automatically, on the same plan and billing period, and billing starts again from that date. There is nothing to do. If you do not want it to resume, cancel before then.
Paying by InstaPay
InstaPay has nothing to pause — you are only paying for the periods you transfer for. Simply do not send a transfer over the break; your account drops to Free limits, nothing is deleted, and you pay again when term starts.
