When you hit a limit
A limit only ever stops you creating the next thing. Nothing is deleted when you reach one, and everything you already have keeps working.
What you will see
Trying something past a limit gives Plan Limit Reached, naming the limit. Trying a feature your plan does not include — exams on Plus, a TA on Free — gives That one needs an upgrade, with See plans and Not now.
What stops, and what keeps working

Out of sessions this month
This is the one to plan for, because it stops a class. Before the month runs out:
- Check Settings → Plan & usage — it shows how many sessions remain.
- Remember your TAs — sessions they start count against your plan.
- If you do run out mid-class, take attendance on paper and bring it in with Import past attendance when the month resets. That import counts against the new month.
Too many students or groups
Archive groups from past terms — archived groups do not count towards the group limit. Students in an archived group still count towards the student limit, so to free student room you need to remove students or move up a plan.
After a plan lapses or moves down
If a paid plan ends, is paused, or is changed to a smaller one, you may already be over the new limits — say 8 groups on Free. Nothing is removed: all 8 stay open and readable, and you can keep running sessions within the month's allowance. You just cannot create a ninth, or anything else past the limit, until you are back under it.
Your options
- Wait — for the session count, until the first of the month.
- Make room — archive finished groups.
- Move up — choose a plan with room for what you teach. An upgrade by card applies straight away; by InstaPay, once the transfer is matched.
