Remove a team member
Remove someone
On the group's Team tab, remove the member and confirm Remove Member. Access ends immediately — the group disappears from their dashboard and they can no longer open anything in it.
Only owners — you, or a shared owner — can do this. A TA cannot remove another TA, or themselves. The group's original owner cannot be removed at all.
Their work stays
Removing someone removes their access, not their contributions.
Sessions they ran, attendance they recorded, assessments they created and grades they entered all remain exactly as they were. Nothing is unwound and nothing is attributed away.
That is the behaviour you want at the end of term: the record of what happened in your course does not depend on who is still helping you teach it.
At the end of a term
There is no need to remove TAs from a group you are finished with — archive the group instead. It leaves everyone's dashboard, keeps every record, and frees the plan slot.
Remove people when you actually want to end their access to a live group: they have left the department, or the group is being handed to someone else.
Freeing a team slot
Team members count against your plan across your whole account — 5 on Plus, no limit on Pro. Removing someone frees a slot immediately.
Archiving a group does not free its team slots, so if you are at the limit and shuffling assistants between courses, remove rather than archive.
Re-inviting
Invite them again the same way. They come back to a group unchanged, with all of their previous work still in place.
